Instant Messages Best For Flirting

How young people prefer to flirt…

E-mail is now for older people and teenagers much prefer instant messaging to communicate with each, according to a recent survey.
Internet users under 30 are more likely to use instant messaging than email as a preference for communicating, according to recent Australian trends. Meanwhile mobile phone text message services ranked the highest among teenagers, when communicating with the opposite sex.

E-mail is still used by 90 percent of young people. But the survey found a much greater enthusiasm for instant messaging, and mobile phone text.

Three-quarters of teen Internet users use instant messaging, compared with 42 percent of adults. Nearly half of teens said they exchanged IMs daily, and some said they spent more than an hour each day using instant messenger type programs.

Over half of 5,000 surveyed in Australia said they used Instant Messages to send Web links or photos to each other, while nearly forty percent said they had sent music or video clips over IM. Adults were much less likely to do any of those things, the survey found.
