Wordpress fsockopen () error
Saturday, May 28th, 2005Update on fsockopen () error problem.
Over the weekend I lost access to RSS feeds and was getting an fsockopen () error on the pages where the RSS feeds were supposed to be. Had a look on the internet for a solution but with no luck. What I did find out though was that it is a very common problem, that can be easily fixed, but no one bothers to let anyone know what they did to stop the error from happening.
First a little background to my own problem just incase it looks like it may be what you are looking for. Last week I installed a Wordpress plugin by Bill Rawlinson called RSS Fetched Link List so that I could import RSS feeds into my Web bBog. That went nice and smooth, easy as 1-2-3.
Problem for me started a couple of days later when the Server that hosts my Blog sput the dummy over code that is in the Posts I use to place the RSS feeds onto my website. The Server shut out my Blog RSS feeds because it thought the Posts were from hackers trying to hack into the Server. By the way, this is all done automatically by the Server. So to make a long story short, I notified the Server operators of my problem and they made a few simple adjustments to the Server security system and… bingo!!! Everything now works perfect.
This may not be the answer to every fsockopen () error, but it was mine. Hope I have been of help.
Online Dating Article Tip #9 - On the phone
Saturday, May 28th, 2005The next step is when you start calling each other. Same thing with the e-mail, don’t bombard the person with calls and txt messages all day long. If you’ve enjoyed a conversation on the phone, send a txt message the next day to say you had a good time talking.
It’s not too difficult from here to gauge the level of interest a person has from you. If you receive a txt message or phone call once a day or once in two days, its safe to say the person calling/messaging is interested. In that case, you can call/message a fair bit as well. Common sense should dictate how much is too much here. Just watch those phone bills.
If you go a week without hearing from them, I would suggest cutting your losses. Again, send them a txt message or e-mail first suggesting that you stop contacting each other. If you get no response then leave it at that. If the person does want to stay in contact then he or she will get back to you.
